Pulse8: A new way to get fitter
Manor Hall at Coalpit Heath
A new exercise class starts a community tour on 30th September at Winterbourne Community Centre and 9th October at Manor Hall in Coalpit Heath. More venues and dates are being added all the time but organisers Twin Wave CIC are also keen to hear from local people who would like to get a Pulse8 Class in their local area too.
The class is called Pulse8 and involves fun exercises and rhythms on drums made from local recycled bike wheels.
Pulse8 is created by drummer Paul Midgley and therapist Monika Kralj.
Paul Midgley says, “I wouldn’t ordinarily go to a gym to exercise, but I know the importance of keeping fit. We’ve tested different ideas with local communities with housing associations, Bromford and also Curo over the last year and settled on a format that’s built for fun and fitness and we are now ready to bring this to the wider community.”
Monika Kralj adds, “Pulse 8 is great for balance and coordination, it’s also great for cardio and heart strength as well as toning muscle. The class has different levels, so participants can choose their level and be comfortable and happy or push themselves a little”.
