NEW! Razz Tots Free Taster Session
Give your pre-school age child a head start in literacy...
Children are born artists, dancers and storytellers! Even at a very young age, they are naturally creative and enjoy all kinds of artistic expression. But as well as having fun, research has shown that with participation in the performing arts, children’s self-confidence, literacy skills, social skills and problem solving ability progresses.
Even for pre-schoolers, a child’s exposure to the arts will affect their creative and academic growth as the child matures. Pre-literacy skills such as reading and writing are greatly improved when students are exposed to a quality, integrated arts education.
Currently available in Bristol North is a new class for the pre-school market, designed in line with the Government’s Early Years Foundation Stage framework. This creates an enabling environment, which facilitates a secure foundation for the child’s development all while they are having fun with their parents/carers.
The class is called Razz Tots, which has been especially created for children age 2 and 3 and is parent/carer assisted. As well as all the benefits to the children, the adults can enjoy meeting other parents and carers living locally over tea and coffee at the end of the class while the children play.
It is also a special time for bonding, without the distractions of the phone, computer or endless chores. Many parents struggle to find the time in the day to properly focus on just their child so this allows them the space to connect and have fun with each other.
Razzamataz is a national network of theatre schools that is passionate about the positive effects that the performing arts can have on all children, from the youngest at just two to the oldest student at 18.
“Every child is unique therefore our classes are consistently high quality allowing every child to progress at their own rate,” says Georgia Davies, Principal of Razzamataz Bristol North. “Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships, which is why Razz Tots allows parents/carers and their little ones to build on their relationship through advancing communication skills and increasing personal, social and emotional awareness.
“These active classes will encourage physical development, explore imaginations and allow your little ones to become confident, capable and self-assured individuals whilst having fun! Every child deserves the best possible start in life and these early years are crucial for building the foundations for success in the future,” adds Georgia Davies.
Themes throughout Razz Tots will include all the areas that ignite little one’s imagination such as ‘jungle adventures’ ‘under the sea’ and ‘space travel.’ The youngsters are urged to participate as much as possible and the shyest children will be gently encouraged to join in to reach their full potential.
Razz Tots is held every Saturday at 9am-10am. The location for classes is Yate Academy High School, Sundridge Park, Yate, South Glos. BS37 4DX. Places are booking up quickly and are available on a strictly first come first served basis.
