A great family day out at this unique heritage site dating from 1342.
Living history re-enactment group The Company of Chivalry portray life in a medieval encampment in the 1300s. Find out how people lived, worked and fought whilst on campaign during the 100 years’ war in the 14th century. See medieval cookery, crafts, and trades, with varied talks and demonstrations going on throughout the day.
There will be a full programme of activities and demonstrations throughout the day, including live music.
Hot and cold locally-sourced food and drink will be available, and the Three Engineers brewery will be open.
Entry is £5 Adults, £1 for children aged 3-16yrs. Tickets will be available online in advance to avoid queues, or on the gate.
Please note that free car parking for this event is at Winterbourne Academy on the High Street (BS36 1JL). From there it is a pleasant 10 - 15 minute walk down Church Lane to the Barn. If you cannot manage the walk down to the Barn, please email us on events@winterbournebarn.org.uk - car parking at the Barn is for those with mobility issues only and must be reserved in advance. Please do not park in Church Lane.
There is plenty of bicycle parking at the Barn for those arriving on two wheels.
The primary purpose of the event is to raise money for WMBT and to support conservation, management, maintenance and improvement of the WMBT site.
