Sodbury and Yate Business Association Secretary

Job Purpose:
To provide a secretarial role to ‘The Sodbury and Yate Business Association’ through attending meetings, providing agendas and taking minutes. To include all administrative duties and marketing activities including venue bookings; copywriting; website updates; press releases; advertising and creation of promotional literature; production of newsletters; social event organisation; and correspondence to council members and interested parties. To be the point of contact for all members and the administrative centre of all SYBA activities. The aim of this role will be to support SYBA to increase its membership.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Organise and co-ordinate meetings
• Maintain membership database
• Communicate verbally and in writing to answer enquiries
• Promote the association through copywriting and creation of advertorials, articles and flyers/posters
• Manage online activities including maintaining and updating website and Facebook
• Manage all communications with members, interested parties and prospective members
• Produce regular newsletter
• Support business, social and fundraising events

Education and Experience:
• Relevant training/qualification
• Knowledge and experience of relevant software and online programmes including Eventbrite, Mailchimp and Wordpress
• Knowledge and experience of administrative and clerical procedures
• Proven experience in information and communication management
• Proven experience in producing correspondence and documents
• Knowledge of business principles
• Proficient in spelling, grammar and other English language skills

Attend one Exec meeting and one general meeting per month, usually 5.30-7pm. Produce and circulate minutes.

Warehouse Operative - Nights, Charles Saunders Ltd

Full Time

Charles Saunders Ltd have been established in Bristol for over 50 years, and have recently moved to Yate. We supply a full range of frozen, chilled and ambient foods, fresh and frozen seafood, together with an extensive range of tableware and disposable products.

This position will suit someone who is looking for nights work, has a flexible attitude and can work well both alone and as part of a team, previous warehouse experience is advantageous.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
•Pick required goods as specified on a picking sheet for the next day’s deliveries
•Break down and stack products; handling carefully so as to ensure products are stored in a good condition
•Maintain the warehouse in a clean and tidy condition
•Load Lorries for the next day’s deliveries

Skills & Attributes:
•Previous experience of picking / loading orders in a warehouse environment is advantageous
•Must have a positive, enthusiastic and flexible attitude
•Must demonstrate excellent attention to detail and apply a high level of accuracy at all times
•Efficiency is key, ensuring items are picked in a timely manner
•Quick learner
•Able to work on your own and in a team
•Good level of numeracy and literacy

HOURS: 8 hours per day. The following shifts are available, please state your preference when applying:

· Morning Shift: 04:00am – 12:30 (30 minutes break) (Monday-Friday)
· Afternoon Shift: 12:00 – 20:30 (30 Minutes break) (Monday – Friday)
· Twilight Shift: Monday – Thursday 16:00 – 01:00 (1 hour break), Friday 14:00 – 23:00 (1 hour break)
· Night Shift: Sunday – Thursday 23:00 – 07:30 (30 minutes break)

Salary: Starting salary of £17,768 per annum, plus on completion of training can earn a £60 monthly performance bonus.
