Frampton Cotterell and District Local History Society present a talk by Liz Davenport “Woodchester Mansion- an unfinished masterpiece?”
The work of young local architect, Benjamin Bucknall, the unfinished state of the mansion gives a rare chance for us to understand how these Victorian gothic buildings were made. But who was it built for? Why was it never finished? And what is being done to conserve it now?
Liz Davenport has been volunteering at the Mansion for more than 20 years and is also the archivist there, she's researched the building and it's owners, and written a book!
All welcome. Free to members, annual subscription £15. You don't need to be a member to attend talks, you can pay on the door (£5). Includes light refreshments.
