Christmas Tree Festival
St Mary's Church, Yate
The Festival is a community focused event which we hope you will all enjoy, where you will meet friends old and new, enjoy the sights and lights of the fifty Christmas Trees, have a warming cuppa and a mince pie and experience the true meaning of Christmas.
This year our fundraising will be shared 50/50 in partnership with St Peter’s Hospice for their work in the community in the fantastic care and support they give to patients and their families.
Festival dates

A free, all ages event with singing, keyboard accompaniment and refreshments.
Also a chance to reminisce with Aerospace Bristol, looking at objects and pictures, sharing memories of holidays.

14th-23rd: Follow the Star Trail
Yate Shopping Centre
Follow the Star around South Yate to find the figures. The trail takes about 1hr and is buggy friendly.
Join us on Christmas Eve at 4:00 pm at Nix Church to see the figures re-united. Come dressed as a character from the nativity story, to help us re-tell the story.

Winterbourne Medieval Barn

A fun, informative talk with Julie Henderson looking at some of the folklore, history, botany, horticulture and interesting facts behind the plants that make up our Christmas festivities.
Julie is an experienced professional gardener with a passion for pruning. She teaches workshops to adults and children at The University of Bristol Botanic Garden, and also on the RHS Level 3 Horticulture Certificate course. Her background includes working as a Horticultural Researcher for BBC Gardeners’ World and as a Tour Guide at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens.
