SGMRG Autumn Walk: The Strad Brook Valley
A walk led by Steve Grudgings through the Strad Brook Valley
The walk will start from Magpie Bottom Nature Reserve (just north of A431 Bath Road at Bryants Hill (https://www.walkinbristol.com/magpie-bottom).
The Strad Brook Valley, running from Two Mile Hill to Conham, was the site of large numbers of coal mines from as early as 1600. However, very few traces remain and the area has been extensively developed.
Free for members. We ask non-members to contribute £2 please.)
The walk will be in two sections - uphill from Magpie Bottom and then downhill to Conham and is likely to take between 4
and 5 hours. Bring suitable clothing, good footwear and packed lunches.
Parking is available just off Hanham High Street (around BS15 3HF).
