Yate’s Christmas Festive Fun Day Spectacular

Yate’s Christmas Festive Fun day on Saturday, 23rd November will be a bonanza of dance, music and entertainment with local groups showing their talents and wooing the crowds.
There will be non-stop entertainment for all ages from 11am until 5pm when Father Christmas, helped by Elf on the Shelf, will bring a sparkle to the darkening skies by turning on the Centre’s Christmas lights from the hub of activities in Yate Shopping Centre’s Central Square.
Andrew Lowrey, Yate Shopping Centre Manager: “The Christmas Fun Day is always a special time for everyone in Yate. This year will be another spectacular day of free entertainment with Stage Acts and plenty more. Apart from the central stage, there will be an array of fun throughout the Centre Walkways and in between the stage acts.
“In addition to the entertainment, there are over 100 shops and eateries offering seasonal temptations for all, making it the perfect day out for the family. Following on from the 23rd there will be a regular festival of community acts and choirs running through until 21st December along with Santa’s Grotto which will be open from Saturday 30th November until Christmas Eve.”
Scheduled entertainment on the main stage in the Central Square is:
• 11.00am Street Cred Dance School
• 11.30am Razzamataz Theatre School
• 1.30pm Sodbury Players with a sketch from their January panto, Aladdin
• 2.00pmD-Day Dollies – Winter Sundaes Show
• 2.30pmStreet Cred Dance School
• 3.00pm Rock Choir singing a selection of favourite Christmas carols and songs
• 4.00pmD-Day Dollies – Holly Dolly Christmas Show
• 4.30pmAnna & Elsa
• 4.45pmFun, games and giveaways with James
• 5.00pmLights switch-on with Father Christmas, helped by Elf on the Shelf
In addition, there will be endless free Christmas fun and entertainment including children’s fairground rides, Postman Pat with his van (write a letter to Santa), roaming magician, a balloon modeller, scores of musical acts and meet and greets running from 11.00am including Bingo & Bluey, Paddington, Hey Duggee, Anna & Elsa along with Elf on the Shelf helping Father Christmas flick the switch so don’t miss your favourite!
Over the following few weeks until Christmas, the Centre will be welcoming community and school choirs along with Santa’s Grotto and further details will be published in due course.
