Learn how to propagate apple and pear trees on this one-day course under the tuition of Tim Andrews of Orchard Revival. Tim is a commercial Gloucestershire cider maker and orchard specialist. He has over 20 years teaching experience and has featured on Gardeners' World and Countryfile for his work on orchards.

This workshop is suitable for any adult, but would be particularly interesting for keen gardeners and allotment holders. You will learn how and why we graft trees, and will put these skills into practice by making three newly-grafted apple trees that you can take home at the end of the day, to start your own orchard or give away to someone with more space!

Tim will provide a range of rootstocks for grafting onto. These determine the size that your new tree will grow to. Knives, secateurs and scion wood will be supplied, but you are very welcome to bring your own equipment should you wish. If you have a favourite apple or pear tree that you wish to propagate, then do bring along your own wood (scion) to graft.

Cost £55 for all materials and full tuition. Tea coffee and biscuits will be provided throughout the day, but please bring your own lunch. Wear suitable clothing to keep you warm and comfortable (and that may get a little messy) whilst working in the Barn.
