Fused Glass Workshops
Winterbourne Medieval Barn
Tuesday 12th November 10am-12:00 or 1-3pm, and repeated on:
Friday 22nd November
Join Rachael Durkan from The Glass Cabin for one of her popular fused glass workshops to make your own unique Christmas designs. Suitable for complete beginners as well as those who’ve caught the fused glass bug!
Create two ‘tree’ or 'wreath' designs, which can either be used as hangings or placed in a stand. Please note: wooden stands are not included in the price but can be ordered directly with Rachael on the day at £4 each if you choose this option.
You will learn the basics of kiln-formed glass techniques and then choose from a selection of templates to help guide your design, and pick from an array of pre-cut glass and glass accessories to create your trees or wreaths.
Decorations are approximately 13cm in height. Rachael will have lots of ideas to inspire you and can provide design advice throughout the session.
The workshops are informal, fun and relaxing, and no previous experience is necessary. Suitable for age 16+ (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult).
PLEASE NOTE: Rachael will take your finished glass piece away after the workshop to be kiln-fired, and it will be ready to collect from the Barn, or from Rachael directly, approximately one week later.
Workshops cost £48 which includes all materials, full tuition, and tea and coffee on arrival. Free parking on site. Book online via the Barn website or Ticketsource.
The primary purpose of the event is to raise money for WMBT and to support conservation, management, maintenance and improvement of the WMBT site.
