Memorial Woodlands offers families the chance to say a personal, appropriate farewell in the beautiful surroundings of our woodland cemetery, situated in a peaceful valley just outside Thornbury.
Our onsite chapel and reception rooms will be yours for the day to hold whatever kind of service you wish; traditional, ecological, religious or humanist.
If you are arranging a funeral now or making plans for the future, please do come to see our beautiful grounds for yourself and learn about our range of services, funeral plans and woodland memorials. We’ll give you all the time, support and advice you need.

We are a group of volunteers who came together in summer 2014 with the aim of improving Frampton Cotterell by planting bulbs and flowers around our village
Our funding comes from grants, donations and our own fund raising activities. We have also received generous gifts from local businesses and residents who have been wholly supportive of our efforts.
We are always happy to welcome new volunteers to our group. Anyone wishing to join the group can contact us via our website.
In 2003 Yate Town Council took over management of the park and the ‘Friends' group was formed to assist the Council to do this in the best possible way. If you would like to get involved, please click below to find out more.
Join in the fun! Help the Friends of Ridge Wood manage this much valued, wildlife-rich woodland. All are welcome - we work hard but have lots of parties!
The Friends group was formed in 1987 when there was a real threat that the Common would be built on.
The Friends saved the Common, and it is now a safe haven for many species of birds, mammals and insects, and is over 200 acres in size.
We meet every first Wednesday of the month from September to June (with a break at Christmas) in the Watkins Room in the Old Grammar School Rooms, Chipping Sodbury at 7.30pm. Annual Subs are £15.00 and visitors pay £3. We have a varied programme of speakers and the occasional workshop.
We have a day’s coach trip each year to visit Open Gardens or other places of gardening interest. We support Sodbury in Bloom. We are a friendly club and by no means all expert gardeners. We enjoy sharing what knowledge we do have and welcome visitors to any of our meetings.
If anyone is interested in joining or just finding out about our club they are welcome to come to a meeting or phone Naomi Gathercole on 01454 314476.
